I hold a master's degree in secondary education and teach students ranging from the sixth grade to the college level. I usually begin lessons with a warm-up that acts as a review and then move on to an engaging "attention getter" before going into direct instruction, group practice (as needed), and finally independent practice. I use a variety of methods while teaching, but I am particularly fond of/effective with analogies, visuals, and logic.
I currently teach English Language Arts for the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. I have been teaching for nine years in a variety of educational environments including general education, special education, advanced placement, honors, 1:1 tutoring, and alternative settings. In addition to middle school, I have also taught high school English for sophomores and juniors.
Please notify me of cancellations at least two (2) hours prior to a scheduled session. Less than two hours notice will require a ten dollar fee.
