I am a recent college graduate, looking to work my way into teaching. After completing a BA degree at Franklin College I found a passion working with students. This in turn, helped me to decide that I want to help students understand art. To understand art could be to focus on a simple medium, or it could be as advanced as learning about various artist and styles as well. Artistic skill can be taught.
I am the most experienced with oil painting, but I am also experienced in drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting. I have some knowledge of ceramics and wood burning as well.
I am new to giving lessons, but I have experience working with students in the camp setting, and with all ages. I would like to incorporate different styles and artist into the lessons, so that students can also learn a little art history as they create their work. I am open to suggestions and Ideas, if there is a specific area of interest. Creativity is the most important!
A travel rate may be added based on location, but if that creates a problem, I am very flexible and understanding.
MY Experience: I was introduced to Oil Painting at age 10, and took lessons for about 5 years. In 5th-6th grade I was part of my elementary Honors Art. I took Art throughout my High School Career. In High School I competed in the Jr. Duck Stamp Contest, Receiving 1st in 2009 & 2012, and recieving Honorable Mention in 2011. In 2011 I also entered in Fine Arts in my 4-H fair, receiving Grand Champion and a blue/Honor at the State Fair College: In college I was part of multiple Student Art Shows. In 2013 I received the Award of Merit in Painting I, in 2014 Honorable Mention in Color and Design, and in 2015 Honorable Mention in Painting III. I Graduated from Franklin College with a BA Degree in Studio Art, with a focus on Painting and Design.
