I feel that in order to teach properly, there has to be some sort of connection/ understanding between the teacher and the student; that there needs to be trust. I will always start by getting to know my students and seeing how much they understand. I’ll let them know that I’m not judging them and that it is okay for them to make mistakes. After observing and having a better understanding of my students’ thoughts and work, I’ll be able to customize the lessons based on what I think is best for them. As we go on through the lessons, if I see my student unable to comprehend my teachings, I will make sure that they are not left confused before we continue. At the end of the tutoring I have no doubt that my student will be a math a expert!
I am a student who has been taking advanced level/ higher level math for 5 years. I am a top student who has never gotten under 90% on a math test/ exam/ quiz. I am able to comprehend new mathematical topics very easily, which allows me to learn, as well as help higher level students who are struggling with their given math tasks. I am a very ongoing and patient teacher who is willing to compromise depending on the students’ needs. Many of my peers say that I am excellent at explaining the work and are often satisfied with the results of my “help”.
