I tend to first deliver some typical methods for solving common test problems to make sure the students understand the fundamental principles. Then I'll let the students do lots of exercises on different problems so that when they meet the similar ones during the tests, even though they do not fully understand the question, they will have a close guess on how to solve them.
I've been Teaching Assistance in RPI for two semesters in a course Introduction to Engineering Analysis, which meanly deals with math and physics problems including forces and motions. The class typically has around 50 students, and I answered all their questions regarding to the class materials.
