I am currently a Junior at Texas State University. I am pursuing a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration. I have a 3.0 GPA. I have tutored through my university and have completed 75+ hours of coursework which I believe more than qualifies me to be able to help other students in the areas of study that I have indicated. I believe in hands on Socratic teaching method that is meant to be a dialogue between teacher and student . I spend the first half of the lesson explaining concepts, doing examples, and allowing the student to ask questions. The dialogue is then shifted and the student is asked to teach the concept to the instructor to ensure a solid understanding of the material.
I am involved in the Math club as well as on the problem solving team which works at solving unsolved problems posted by the American Mathematical Journal (AMJ). I have taught many students in the lab at our university. While I have tutored many people, this will be my first time giving private lessons a go.
Some rates will vary based on the students level of experience. (If there is something that I don't understand or cant help you with, 50% - 100% fee reductions will be granted respectively).
