When I teach individually, I let the student tell me what they need help with and work from there. When I teach a class, I usually write on the whiteboard, and have a game prepared to get the whole class involved and willing to practice the new skill.
I am an undergrad at Tulane University. I have had two years' tutoring experience at Bellaire High School, teaching not only individual students, but on occasion, my whole class (around 20 students). I have been learning German since I was 6, and studied abroad in Hannover in 10th grade. After tutoring, many students have reported increased understanding an an improvement in their grades.
