University English professor with 20 years of experience offers academic and business writing lessons online

Methodology

I have 20 years of experience teaching freshman Composition, Advanced Composition, Advanced Professional Writing, Literary Theory, and African American literature courses at the university level. I have a Ph. D. in English from The University of Alberta. I meet students where they are as writers and readers and facilitate the development of their skills in a carefully tailored, step-by-step process, geared toward each individual's needs and goals. My goal is for students to come to view themselves as competent and capable writers and readers with skills that they can adapt to any setting in which they may find themselves.

Background

I have been employed as an English professor for 15 years. Prior to that, I taught for five years while I was a graduate student. I teach about 75 students per semester. As a private tutor, I am careful not to overload myself so as to give each and every client the time and attention he or she deserves and needs.
