I try to teach in a holistic, full body-experience way. I believe that the breath and the body are two of the most important factors in singing, and they often et ignored in exchange for a focus on a more "intense" or "powerful" vocal sound which can lead to damage. I try to teach students concepts on musicology and music theory, reflecting upon the composition and text patterns of each song we work. I usually begin lessons with 30 minutes of warm up and then spend the last 30 minutes working on a song of my choice or of the student's choice.
I am a singer, actress, and dancer studying musical theatre at NYU Tisch. I have been performing since I was very young and have been teaching ages 5-18 since 2015. I have taught 10 students at my private studio and countless others through Summer Theatre Programs and Camps. One student was accepted early decision to North Western in their theatre program while we were studying together, and others have noted large improvements in their understanding of their voice.
Students under the age of 10 usually begin with 30 minute lessons, which will be $25, and then can increase to hour long lessons after extended periods of study.
