My teaching methodology is inquiry based. As an educator I understand that the very root of the word education is 'educare' which means to bring up. So as an educator my approach is to provide instruction by asking questions that trigger curiousity and thinking about their own ideas, writing, and language acquisition. Instead of simply presenting facts, established principles and concepts, and rules I start by executing creative strategies to bring up what is already inside of my students to help them make an emotional connection to what they are trying to learn or master. This approach helps them to not only acquire the know-how but to incorporate their learning into their lives so that they can use and recall it whenever it is needed.
I am a life long writer with a Master of Fine Arts degree from one of the most prestigious art schools in America- Savannah College of Art and Design. I am a published poet and essayist. I have both coached and tutored undergraduate students in the discipline of poetry as well as coached professionals in business to craft and write marketing content.
Solid reputation for being an inquiry-based educator and writer for print publication and online marketing. Adept at using my experience to create an environment that turns learning into a practice of skill acquisition. Focused on helping students strengthen their written and oral communication skills as a means of accelerating their professional growth in their chosen area of practice or field of interest. Strong ability to identify, develop and sustain a network of people and other resources for tasks. Able to execute strategic initiatives in a methodical approach.
